Gifting Workshop at HQ! TH Nov. 15 @6:30pm

A Gifting Workshop in two parts

6:30PM – Intro to Gift Circles
Gift circles are a form of group relating and value-exchange. Underneath the value of material things transacted in traditional gift circles is the primal source code of all relatedness: the attention we give to one another.

This experiential workshop will offer participants a couple of structured formats in which to experiment with closing the gap between our inner and external worlds, and between ourselves and others. We will explore the connective technology inspired by gift circles, and informed by Nonviolent Communication; you will take away a toolkit to work more collaboratively with others.

The gift circle can only accommodate late-comers until 6:40pm so plan to arrive on time.

Afterwards, all participants are welcome to come to the 8th Floor to join the in-progress Crafting Workshop/ Part Two:

7:00 PM – Crafting using re-purposed materials to benefit Central Market social services!

  • It’s time to Recycle Your Life x 2  as all participants are encouraged to make two of our several projects – and gift one onward to one of the designated benefit groups in Central Market. We’ll be sewing, decorating, cutting, gluing and transforming pants, sweaters, scrap fabric and flotsam into tote and shoulder bags, pouches and hats for gifting. Bring old but clean sweaters & fleece for hats & scarves.
  • Participants are also welcome to contribute new or like-new gift items to the Recycle Your Gift table for needy families.
